Women In Export Development

Research shows that women are largely the driving force behind the global economy, controlling over 65% of global consumer spending, but there exists a paradox. Globally, women businesses are outperformed in less productive sectors, as owners often lack adequate access to capital in addition to the myriad of bottlenecks and complications plaguing their businesses, same as with all Nigerian entrepreneurs.


ITC/NEPC SHETRADES PARTNERSHIP


On the 13th of July, 2016, NEPC in collaboration with ITC launched the Shetrades initiative in Nigeria, they used the platform to concretize and announce to the world the Council’s commitment to the global “Call to Action”which is connecting 400,000 Women Entrepreneurs to the global market by 2020. This is to:
  • Enables them to find new business and partnership opportunities
  • Let the market know what their companies have to offer.
  • Matches them with companies that have complimentary interests



  • SheTrades helps companies to include more women entrepreneurs in their supply chains as part of diversity and inclusion commitments.
  • Through a series of customized filters, companies can identify women entrepreneurs that meet their sourcing requirements.
  • As a SheTrades member, companies have full access to women entrepreneur’s profiles and company information.
  • A pool of women entrepreneurs is ready to expand their networks and trade!

  • Access the #SheTrades platform on: shetrades.com and click “register”
  • Complete the form with all relevant business details
Credibility
  • SheTrades works with partners to verify registered women entrepreneurs. What does it mean?
  • A growing number of credible organizations including SDI International, NEPC, Tony Elumelu Foundation etc have already confirmed their place on the #SheTrades platform to verify women entrepreneurs that are members of their networks.
  • This functionality will provide a form of reference for women entrepreneurs registered on the App/website, enhancing their credibility to potential business partners

Be a verifier 
  • Trade and Investment Support Institutions, Chambers of Commerce, International Organizations, NGOs, Professional Associations, etc. These institutions are able to confirm if the businesses registered on SheTrades are credible members of their networks.
  • ITC partners are invited to register as “verifiers”.
  • Kindly notice that ITC needs to validate every verifier registration.

Animal Quarantine Procedures In Nigeria
